Conceal caption David Daniel, an east Texas landowner, was so determined to block the Keystone XL pipeline from coming through his forest that he constructed an elaborate network of treehouses eight tales above the ground. Conceal caption Daniel started constructing the tree town back in March and states that his background as a circus entertainer helped in producing the elaborate web of platforms and stress lines. This was Daniel’s last stand in a long battle with TransCanada, the business that’s constructing the diminish part of the Keystone XL pipeline. Conceal caption The tree-sit didn’t stop the pipeline but it did trigger TransCanada to move the pipeline 100 feet away from the proposed easement. Conceal caption The Tar Sands Blockade protesters hang banners from a 100-foot-long catwalk. There are a total of seven frameworks suspended in the canopy of the trees with more than 500 feet of wire connecting them.

Key:

  • Aggregate Sentiment is meant to be an indicator of an individual’s overall sentiment.
  • The Mean is meant to be an indicator of an individual’s average comment sentiment.
  • The Standard Deviation, when there are enough quotes, will indicate an individual’s consistency of sentiment (i.e. a Standard Deviation of 0 would mean they were very consistent in their sentiment and 1 would mean they were very inconsistent).

Note that quote stats are likely to be meaningless beyond the aggregate score due to the tiny sample size. However, they are always provided just in case you find something useful there.

The Keystone pipeline is supposed to carry tar sands oil from Canada to Texas — a route that runs right through David Daniel’s land. To try to save his woods from bulldozers, Daniel built tree houses 80 feet in the air and protesters climbed up into them.
